Brian Krow
Brian Krow is an American television producer who spent 12 years in Los Angeles before returning to his Washington D.C. hometown. Krow has produced more than 100 hours of non-fiction programming across numerous broadcast and cable networks, becoming most widely known for his accomplishments on ABC’s award winner show Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition, which he earned an Emmy Award Nomination.
Currently, he resides as Vice President of Content Marketing at Worldwide Speakers Group (wwsg.com) while overlooking WarFront Media, with an office on the Universal Lot in Studio City, California and in Washington D.C. area. WarFront Media is a world-renowned video production company dedicated to the creative fusion of Content Marketing and Video Production for the strategic vision of clients within the Corporate, Commercial, Entertainment and Department of Defense (DoD) markets.
The past five years, Krow has overlooked the content marketing and video production for LMT Inc., a 45 million dollar national security company based out of Vienna, VA. LMT opened up unprecedented access to the Special Forces communities and Krow has delivered several training videos to DoD clients, such as Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO). To include a recent 2014 Television, Internet, Video Association (TIVA) award winning project entitled The Operational Research Training Video (ORSA) Training Video, was produced in support of the analysts – some of which are LMT team members – working on the frontlines of military operations around the world, like Afghanistan. Krow spent several weeks deployed in Afghanistan to document the daily life of each ORSA. To date, it is still used by Director-level leadership and sent out to military schools for educational purposes, including the U.S. Army’s West Point.
At Realscreen Summit’s 2012 pitch contest, Krow took first place with his show concept entitled FROGWOMEN, where 24 elite women would be challenged with a simulated six-week U.S. Navy SEAL training course to test their physical, mental and emotional fortitude. Federal policy currently doesn’t permit women to be in combat with the U.S. military’s Special Forces units, like SEALs. Krow’s WarFront partnered with LMT for FROGWOMEN with the goal of creating inspirational television. LMT opened up unprecedented access to the U.S. Navy SEALs in Coronado, Ca. and Virginia Beach, giving Krow the opportunity to observe and understand this elite training.
In the summer of 2011, Krow wrote and produced a PSA for actor Chris Evans of the summer’s blockbuster hit Captain America on behalf of the Navy SEAL Foundation. It was picked up by the NFL and played at stadiums across America generating tens of thousands of dollars “text in” donations to help support the families of fallen SEALs.
Prior to relocating to the D.C. area, Krow produced several network level and cable non-fiction television shows. In 2010, Krow got the call from his mentor Denise Cramsey (DC TV Productions) to produce their NBC’s newest prime time show School Pride, which marks as the biggest makeover show ever in the history of non-fiction programming. Their mission was to tell the stories of communities coming together to renovate their aging and broken public schools as well as to generate awareness around the lack of support the U.S. government has contributed to the education system over the past few decades. Krow was influential with dealing with one of the largest strategic partnerships on a primetime network show to include Microsoft, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, GMC, and Bing.
In 2009, Discovery Channel would then select Krow to develop and produce their newest show called Construction Intervention, where small business owners are faced with being taken advantage of by false contractors. In five days time, Krow (and team) reconstruct a new business to provide hope into the family’s business to live on forever. Krow also played an integral part in refreshing Discovery Channel’s exposure system, where a brand would trade out good and/or services for exposure on the TV show.
In 2008, Mark Burnett handpicked Krow to develop and produce DreamWorks TV and TNT's first reality show called Wedding Day, where a deserving couple held by extraordinary challenges gets a surprise million dollar dream wedding amongst family and friends. Krow took the same “feel good” business model show format from EMHE along with implementing a brand exposure system (trade for goods and services) for TNT.
From 2007 – 2009, Krow was most successfully known for his accomplishments on ABC's award winning show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, in which Krow earned an Emmy Award Nomination. At the height of the nation’s number one family hour show, Krow took on the two-year commitment of producing “50 shows in 50 state tour” for EMHE, helping deserving families in desperate circumstances across the United States. Krow holds the highest rated produced single episode in EMHE history as well as defining “product placement” exposure system for major brand integrations such as SEARS, Ford, Kohler, Lumber Liquidators, Dal-Tile, and hundreds of brands nationwide.
In 2005, Krow was picked up by World Poker Tour Enterprises to overlook all production assets both domestically and internationally. Krow sat as the Production and Stage Manager for season five and six of the World Poker Tour series (Travel Channel), which to date have became the two most successful poker seasons.
In 2003, Krow made his bridge into factual entertainment as a creative development coordinator and executive assistant with Gay Rosenthal Productions. During his tenor, he assisted in the development of several cable shows, most notably TLC’s long running hit show Little People, Big World and several clip shows like 100 Best Catchphrases in TV and Film and TV’s 100 Most Memorable Moments and TV’s Myths and Legends.
In 1999, Krow graduated from the WVU Acting Conservatory program with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. After a short term of graduate work at Carnegie Mellon University studying Shakespeare, Krow quickly packed his bags with ambition to head to Hollywood and apply his training. Upon arriving, he booked several national commercials and carried a lead role in three films, one of which being the critically acclaimed film called My Big Fat Independent Movie that traveled to 58 festivals domestically and internationally - gaining eight nominations and four wins and a national theatrical release.
Krow’s awards include two-time 2014 winner of the Television, Internet, Video Association award, 2012 Realscreen Summit’s Pitch Contest, winner of two consecutive years of the Producers Guild of America Mentorship Program, where an A-List Producer overlooked Krow’s career for six months. Also, Krow won the “MySpace/FX Pilot Contest” on his 5-minute proof of concept called SUBS, beating out 5,000 MySpace pilot submissions. Grand prize was 50k and a deal with the FX Network.
Krow is a 2013 graduate of Georgetown University, where he earned a certificate for social media in government. In 1999, he graduated from West Virginia University’s Acting Conservatory Program, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Communication. Before moving to California to start his career, Krow did a short term of graduate work at Carnegie Mellon University studying Shakespeare.
